When
a quantity of spent batteries is available, the units should be
secured to pallets and prepared for shipment as per the generator's
requirements defined in the Department of Transportation regulation
(CFR Title 49). A packing list describing the number and types
of batteries should accompany the shipment.

The batteries
will be picked up by a licensed, commercial or contract, hazardous
material carrier. In most cases, pick up will occur within three
business days.

Prior to
unloading, the tractor/trailer will be weighed on a certified
scale.

Shipping
documents (Bill of Landing / Packing List) will be reconciled
against the contents of the trailer.

The batteries
will be unloaded and promptly processed under controlled and protected
conditions.

All pertinent
information is recorded.

If requested,
a certificate documenting proper handling and recycling of the
materials, is available and will be mailed with the Settlement
Report.
